Macklind Avenue Mile

Without a doubt the Macklind Avenue Mile is one of St. Louis' most unique races. Put on by Big River Running Company, it is the area's largest one mile road race with nearly 1,500 registrants in 2012. This year the event will take place on Saturday June 29th, 2013.
The race is a ton of fun and will once again feature a post-race concert.
"Totally Rad" Macklind Avenue Mile Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as the top three in each male and female age division.
The Post-Race party has always been one of the highlights of the Macklind Mile and this year we're again taking things to a whole new level with a post-race concert. The band will play from 9:45 to 11:30 on Macklind Avenue. You won't want to miss it!
If you want to run with your children or your significant other be sure to sign up for the friends and family wave!
Pets are welcome!
Make sure and stick around for the festival that includes music, food, beer, sno-cones and face-painting for the kids!
The Kids quarter mile dash has been a huge hit and will be back again for 2013! The race will begin at 9:10 near the intersection of Winona and Macklind. All finishers will receive a ribbon. We do have youth shirt sizes to accommodate all of our younger participants.
Men's Course Record- 4:00.9, Jeremy Doherty, 2008 Women's Course Record- 4:40.9, Margo Richardson, 2011. A bonus of $250 will be presented to the winner breaking the course record.
Men who have run under 4:30 for a mile in the last year and women who have run under 5:30 in the last year are eligible for the elite wave. We will take the top ten male and female entrants. Elite awards will be separate and there will be a $250 bonus for a course record (men or women – winner only)!
